2022 Kleinlerer Pinot Noir
Sonoma Coast (Sustainably farmed)
Sonoma County, California

OK, fellow wine nerd. This wine is a blend of two clones: Pommard and Dijon 828. The Pommard clone, brought into the United States from France, is expressive in its aromatics, redolent of wild strawberry, bing cherry and sandalwood. The Dijon 828 adds tannic structure and notes of blackberry and red plum. When you taste the wine, you can actually feel the effects of both clones. Cool, huh?

The Pinot Noir is made by hand using native yeast, and aged in neutral oak barrels. It is 50% whole cluster, unfined, unfiltered, and produced with minimal sulfur. While it’s “natural” per European standards, it’s bright and luscious on your palate.

90 Points, James Suckling
Full-bodied and quite rich in mouthfeel, with black plums, black cherries and a touch of vanilla bean. Moderate tannins are absorbed by the smooth texture for a polished, soft effect.
